Who We Are

Rooted in Scotland.
Trusted worldwide.

Harvieston is a Scottish property and hospitality group built on three decades of estate stewardship and circa £25 million of assets in Scotland.

Our work spans estate management, serviced accommodation, hospitality and international operations, bringing the same principles to each: long-term thinking, careful management and respect for place.

We are now taking that experience beyond Scotland, beginning with Koh Samui, Thailand.

Harvieston International

The coastline is the strategy.

Scotland taught us the craft: the care of property, the running of rooms and the welcome of guests.

Harvieston International applies that experience in island and coastal markets, beginning with Koh Samui, Thailand, working locally and applying the standards developed through our Scottish operations.

Our approach is deliberate: establish locally, work with local partners, manage properly and build for the long term.

Heritage

Seven centuries of Scottish estate history.

Harvieston's roots lie in Midlothian, where the history of Harvieston Estate reaches back to the medieval landscape of Catcune beside the Gore Water.

Historical accounts associate Catcune and the Harvieston estate with the early Borthwick family before the construction of Borthwick Castle around 1430.

Over succeeding centuries the estate evolved from the fortified world of medieval Scotland into the country-estate tradition represented by Harvieston Hall today.

Catcune represents the medieval identity of the estate; Harvieston Hall represents its later country-house tradition, successive chapters in the history of the same Midlothian landscape.
